About acolite.eu
acolite.eu is the creative showcase of myself, Janusz Urbanski, and is home to a collection of written pieces, art work and level design.
The site will act largely as a hub for my work, linking to my profiles on various different sites (Vimeo, ModDB, DeviantART etc), I will be including some of my art and level design work, as well as a decent amount of written work. The site will also be a kind of personal blog, as I will be bound to talk about what I am working on at the moment, and post updated of my various projects.
What to expect from acolite.eu:
Opinion pieces, postmortems, reviews, and my general thoughts about games and the gaming culture, as well as the bit of news or media that I find interesting.
There will also be modding and mapping related content - things I have learned and think are worth sharing, as well as general game making theory and my responses to issues that concern game design.
I hope to post the occasional bit of writing about art and architecture... I am an art student after all! I may well post a few of my essays if I think they're worth reading.
Don't expect regular activity, as I will only post when I have time or something worth saying, so if I'm busy with other things, the site may get a little dusty.
About Janusz Urbanski:
I go by the username 'acolite' online, and am an avid gamer, level designer, and UK based art student. At the time of writing I'm currently doing a Diploma in Foundation Studies at Hereford College of Art, and hopefully next year will have started a BA in Games Art, depending how my university applications work out.
Though I still find it odd to call myself an artist, you can find my most recent work on DeviantART and Vimeo. When it comes to video games I'm both a player and developer, playing mostly on the PC and making maps for the Source engine, Left 4 Dead and Half-Life 2 specifically.
